How to: Cook Dried Beans in the Slow Cooker

  • 1 or 2 pounds of dried beans (any kind)
  • enough water to cover the beans by 2-inches
  1. Add the dried beans to your slow cooker/crock-pot. Add enough water to cover them and allow them to soak overnight with the lid on.
  2. Drain and rinse your beans. Add the beans back to your slow cooker/crock-pot and add enough water to completely cover your beans, plus 2-inches over the beans.
  3. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 8 hours.
To store any unused beans, add 1 cup of beans to a freezer bag and store until needed.
